Satellite tracking of Caribou

In spring 2008 a total of 40 Caribou have been instrumented with GPS-satellite transmitters in an area north of Nuuk from Akia to Maniitsoq. (see map below).

Caribou with a satellite collar. The collar falls of automatically and can be tracked by GINR.

Project periode

Spring 2008 to summer 2010. It is illegal to shoot a caribou with collar.
