NatureMap and Data Center
The Greenland Institute of Natural Resources and DCE Aarhus University are jointly responsible for the Data Centre for Nature and Environment. The work is done on behalf of the Government of Greenland. The data centre’s services are financed and used in particular by the Environmental Agency for the Mineral Resource Activities and are intended to support advisory and management of nature and the environment in relation to activities in the mineral resources industry. The data center contains many different data, and some of these are shown in NatureMap.
NatureMap is an online map of important biological areas, protected areas and other information used in advice and management. NatureMap is continuously expanded according to need and financial means. Information from the shared data centre will be included in NatureMap on an ongoing basis.
