Kobbefjord Research Station

Kobbefjord Research Station is located ca. 25 km from Nuuk in the inner part of Kobbefjord. The station has 4 buildings: one with accommodation for 8 people, one with kitchen, toilet/shower and basic lab facilities, and two storage buildings giving a total of 145 m2 under roof. In 2019 the station was updated with a solar panel system that generates power to run the station during summer.

Currently the station is mainly used by personel affiliated with the Greenland Ecosystem Monitoring program, but the station is open to all visiting scientists.

Transport to and from the station is by boat (ca. 35 minutes in boat from Nuuk) and is arranged by the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources.

The stationen is donated by Aage V. Jensens Fonde, who also granted money for the boat Aage V. Jensen II being used for transportation between Nuuk and Kobbefjord.
