Research stories on video Published 03.09.2021
DCE – National Center for Environment and Energy, which is a unit under Aarhus University, presents a series of videos about research and advisory projects in Greenland. The projects have different purposes, but all have a common angle related to opportunities and needs for adaptations to the future, including climate changes.
The projects include environmental monitoring of mining projects, oil pollution, permafrost and geological mapping, as well as climate adaptation and management in relation to e.g., birds and marine mammals in Greenland.
On the latter topic, there is a video on monitoring and tracking of seabirds on Kippaku – a project run by Flemming R. Merkel, who is a senior researcher at both the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources and Aarhus University.
The videos were recorded during fieldwork or other relevant activities in the field seasons 2020-2021. More videos will be continuously produced and posted on the site during 2021.
